I’ve seen several friends and ministry groups share this quote and photo of Mark Lowry this week. It is a great quote, but lately I’ve seen so many Christians hating on others sins and putting cute like memes up. I’ve always heard the quote that if you are pointing the sin out at someone you have three more fingers pointing back at yourself.
In our society today, the news and tabloids are full of pointing out everyone’s sins. From adultery to embezzlement to coming out of the closet to getting arrested. You cannot go anywhere and not see it. We see it in the church as well. When someone gets caught in sin, we do not love them, we ridcule them and throw more dirt into their open wounds. I’m not saying the guy who gets caught stealing from his company we should forgive him and ask him to be on the finance committee. It just goes back to surrounding people in love…Agape love…unconditional love!
