The one thing I love about summers in youth ministry are summer drop ins at the church office. Any given day during the summer I have several students stop by office because they see my truck in the parking lot. Some just walk in. Others text or call to make sure I’m there or that I’m nit busy. It’s Leays great to catch up with them. But this summer has been different than other summers. I’m having students just not stop by to hangout but to borrow books, ask what to read in their devotion time, and also talk about ideas for the upcoming fall semester. It is so awesome to see this group of students on fire for God awas not wanting to put God on summer vacation. It’s very encouraging and is helping to push me in my devotional life. This is usually a time of year that I cash inmy comp days, relax more, and to be honest get a little lax in my devotional time. But these teens are really pushing me to the next level and I love it. Its also been great to have parents and other members of the congregation stop by my office as well and just chat. It has been great and it’s only the second week of the summer!
